Roast chicken is not only a healthy but nutritious meal. It is so delicious that it has become the staple Sunday dinners for many people that anyone with an oven at home should learn how to roast a chicken.



There are so many ways you can roast a chicken. You can either roast the whole chicken on the spit or you can cut it up and roast them in an oven. You can stuff anything you like into the chicken. Ingredients such as cheese, lemon and potatoes have always been quite popular.

1. First, preheat the oven to 400°F (204°C).


2. In a large bowl, season the chicken pieces with salt and pepper.


3. Grease an ovenproof dish with 1 tablespoon of olive oil. In the dish, arrange the chicken pieces, garlic and lemon zest then sprinkle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the chicken.


4. Roast the chicken for 10 minutes. After that, add in the marjoram, savory, thyme and white wine. Sprinkle 2 tablespoons of olive oil over the chicken pieces and roast for another 20 minutes. Be sure to add a little warm water ocasionally for basting.


5. Sprinkle the tapenade over the chicken pieces and roast another 10 minutes.


6. Remove sprigs of thyme, savory and marjoram then sprinkle the chopped parsley over the chicken pieces.


7. Serve and enjoy!
